DRAWN Reviews

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000032_00050]Reviews are rolling in for my time travel romance novel Drawn.  I’ll update this page as more come in…

*phenomenal
“…this book deserves to be shouted about from the rooftops! The author’s imagination and plotting skills are phenomenal. I think this is the 4th or 5th time I have read Drawn, and each time, the second I start that first paragraph, I am a captive in her perfect, imaginary world, and I never want to leave. I would gladly live in any world her imagination came up with!! It’s almost depressing when the book ends. You know that quote by Thomas Helm, “My test of a good novel is dreading to begin the last chapter.”? That pretty much sums up my experience with Drawn. EVERY. Single. Time.”

*rated a “best book,” the highest praise – and reserved for only a few
I was drawn (pun intended) into this book from the first page and couldn’t put it down...The setting is wonderful… This story is so deftly created… It has the perfect amount of romance, and enough action and suspense to keep the most distracted reader turning the pages.
Long and Short Reviews

*will curl your toes
The characters are all wonderful, filling in two worlds with real people and making you feel like you’re there. The main romance is heartrendingly sweet and will curl your toes.
Clean Romance Reviews

*drawn to this book
I enjoyed it…was particularly drawn to this book…castles, kings, earls, horses, moats, and medieval intrigue – one of my favorite time periods.
— Donna, Eve’s Fan Garden

*I was totally drawn in
I loved the passion between the two characters, the forbidden romance, the ever impending mystery that could tear them apart. Loved it all! …one truly EPIC read! Five stars from me! I’d recommend this read to anyone!

*One of the best YA novels I’ve read in recent years.
I am so impressed by this book. I was utterly “drawn” into it by the great story and wonderful writing. One of the best YA novels I’ve read in recent years. Five stars.
Flights of Fancy

*fell in love with the entire story
A fun, historical time travel full of creativity, beautiful scenes, and an engrossing mystery…I fell in love with the entire story…the setting was mostly amazing. The castle that Michelle meets Christopher in is spectacular.  And going back in time during that setting? Brilliant…I haven’t read too many time travel books and none that had such pure romance and a true mystery element to it…Their romance was very beautiful and endearing. I didn’t want to see it end. 5 STARS
The Cozy Reader

*Epic and gorgeously written
Epic and gorgeously written, “Drawn” pulls readers in, demanding they not leave unaffected! Michelle is snarky, down to earth and likable, and all the other characters are delightfully intriguing…the writing is amazing, and Marie Lamba’s books are definitely worth checking out!

*I fell in love
I fell in love with the main character… And, she has the good sense to fall for a worthwhile guy, a 3-D character, instead of the cardboard cutouts that are common in so many books…Time travel. Drawings that come to life. Ghosts. The author did a wonderful job of creating tension around the impending murder of the Earl… In addition to the medieval mystery, there’s humorous dialogue, a very sweet romance, and great period details. The writing and, most important to me—the characterizations—are so well done.
— Whatcha Reading Now?

*enjoyable read
Drawn has it all, 3 guys who are completely different, a castle, ghosts, an Earl who is in a spot of trouble, lest he know it, a girl who has a complicated family and a love that can endure centuries…an enjoyable read.
— Novels on the Run

*captivating…haunting
A lushly romantic ghost story…captivating and haunting. I didn’t want it to end.
— Cyn Balog, author of paranormal YA novels Fairy Tale, Sleepless, and Starstruck

*magical
…a wonderfully spooky tale of romance and discovery. It’s a magical exploration of the unconquerable power of love. Highly recommended!
— Jonathan Maberry, New York Times bestselling author of Rot & Ruin and Dust & Decay

*deftly entwines romance and mystery
In DRAWN, Marie Lamba deftly entwines romance and mystery, past and present, into a page-turning adventure. Buy it today and I promise you’ll be finished reading far too quickly!
— Joy Nash, USA Today bestselling paranormal romance author of The Immortals series, The Grail King and The Unforgiven

*breathtaking
What I enjoyed the most was: the ease of the time traveling jumps and the imagery. Marie Lamba has taken the daunting task of creating two different worlds with different rules and done a breathtaking job…
Drawn has a great concept and an even bigger message of hope and everlasting love.
Moonlight Book Reviews

*kept me turning the page
I really enjoyed this story. It has everything. Mystery, romance, adventure, and just enough of the paranormal. The characters are well drawn (sorry, I couldn’t resist) and the plot is tight. The pacing is terrific, and kept me turning the page. Readers should look forward to the arrival of Drawn.
— Stories. Read’em. Write’em.

*really, really liked how the author handled (the end)
As the story unfolds, Michelle grows as she comes against some very difficult things–including facing her own past and fears–and has a hard decision to make in the end. And the end? One, I didn’t see it coming. And two, I really, really liked how the author handled it. I don’t know if there will be a sequel or not, but if there is, I’ll definitely be reading it. 🙂
Danyelle Leafty, Myth-Takes

*swoon
A clever and enjoyable paranormal romance with a love affair that fans of the genre are sure to swoon over.
Tara Calaby, Agrippina Legit

*has it all
This is one of those books that has it all: romance, adventure, time travel, some creepy elements, a plot steeped in medeival history, and ghosts. What really makes the story work though is a lead protagonist that is impossible not to love. Her life is filled with adversity, from her psychic mother who left her to her grieving father to trying to fit in at school, and her troubles only increases when Christopher starts appearing to her. Yet she never backs down, and while uncovering the secrets of Christopher’s past, she also starts to make sense of her own life.
— Lucas Mangum’s Dark Dimensions

*won’t want to put it down!
Characters are drawn together by romance, friendship, and hate. Michelle and her friends are drawn into a mystery. And the reader is drawn into this book, and it never lets go…DRAWN is a fast-paced adventure filled with romance, danger, intrigue, friendship, and humor… If you’re looking for a book with an engaging protagonist, captivating plot, and paranormal twist, this is for you. Just make sure to clear your calendar first, because once you start, you won’t want to put it down!
The Author Chronicles

*will grab you and not let go
DRAWN is a romantic, historic captivating tale filled with danger, mystery, friendship, and love wrapped up with a delicious paranormal twist. A unique, must-read you won’t find anywhere else.
